Dicionário Português is a free Android application developed by Juegos Gratis Flash, falling under the category of Education and Reference. It is a completely installed Portuguese dictionary that offers several advantages to its users. With this app, you don't need internet access to search or read the definitions, which makes it ideal for use in classrooms or situations where there is no network access.
One of the most interesting features of Dicionário Português is that it allows you to turn on the reading aloud feature. When you press a definition, Android will read aloud what that word means, provided that the speech synthesizer in Portuguese is activated in Settings/Language on your Android device. Additionally, clicking on a definition copies it to the clipboard, making it easy to paste into any other application that deals with text, such as an SMS, WhatsApp, or Facebook entry.
While the application occupies 10 megabytes to install and increases slightly after installation, it is still a small price to pay for the wealth of knowledge it provides. Furthermore, this dictionary is not only limited to words in Portuguese but also includes plenty of words in other languages, making it practically a multilingual dictionary.
